How to manage your days effectively as they get shorter?

By ResidenceLifeAssistant 19 Oct 2022

As students we all need more than 24 hours a day. Between the classes, work, assignments, exams and most importantly partying, time just flies and we all wonder how the day just keep getting shorter. Well here are some steps you can use to manage your time.

Revision timetable

Time Table:

Just set a daily timetable for yourself. Plan your days in advance. This is one of the most effective ways to manage your time. First make a list of things you do everyday, e.g. classes, coursework, cooking, work, etc. Once you make a list just make a time table and set aside time for each activity. Don't forget to set time aside for rest as well. If you need time to party one day, set aside some more time for coursework the day before.

Work now not tomorrow:

As student we tend to keep stuff for later. "I'll do this later!" is something we find ourselves saying more regularly than often. Let's decide to collectively to throw this phrase out of our vocabulary. You would automatically have more time at your disposal if you do the reading and homework or revision the same day as the classes so that you ample of free time the rest of the week.

Let your friends in on the schedule:

We tend to be more motivated to do stuff if we have our friends along with us. So make a schedule for yourselves collectively with your friends. A sort of a friendship pact. It could help you and your friends to stay the course and live a way less stressful life.

Ask for help:

Most importantly don't hesitate to ask for help from the people around you. It could be your professor, a friend, parents or us, the Reslife team. Asking for help is a sign of strength. It's mean you aren't scared to get the assistance when it can get a little overwhelming.

In conclusion, when time is flying by make sure to be more proactive and seek help when required.
