By ResidenceLifeAssistant 24 Oct 2023

Whilst studying at university, you may find yourself in need of some extra money to cover your food or bills, or to spend on a night out!  Whilst you most likely are limited in time, it doesn't mean that there aren't options you can take.  Here's a selection of jobs, gigs, and roles you can do - there's something for everybody.

Part-time Jobs

The easiest way to earn yourself some money is to find yourself a part-time job.  With plenty of businesses and restaurants in Coventry, from fast-food chains to clothing retailers, there's plenty of opportunities for everyone.  Working a part-time job also gives you a great chance to boost your range of skills and expand your CV.

If you think this option is for you, then a great place to start looking is on Indeed - a hub for open job roles in and around Coventry.

Content Creator

This is your high-risk, high-reward option: if you have experience editing videos, then uploading content onto a platform such as YouTube or TikTok can lead to the potential for ad revenue and sponsorship opportunities.

It may be worth noting, however, that building yourself a brand and a large following can take time.  The algorithms for social platforms such as these focus on what viewers enjoy - such as sports, gaming, and challenge videos.

Work with the University

The different faculties in the university as well as the student's union offer several roles for students to earn extra money.  If you wanted to become a rep for your school, you could be paid £300 a semester.

You can find out more information about this here.

Mystery Shopping

Many shops and supermarkets are constantly looking to find mystery shoppers to gain feedback on the customer experience.  If you need money to buy some food, this role will pay to you buy groceries and reimburse you for the shopping cost!
