Fun places to visit in Coventry
Before arriving at Coventry University, there is a good chance that you might have done some research into more than just the academics and want to know about what Coventry has to offer outside of lectures and seminars. Luckily, we here at ResLife have compiled our picks for some of the most interesting places and activities we have come across in Coventry.
- TeamSport Go Karting
Located about 3.6 miles away from the city centre, TeamSport Go Karting offers an exciting 500m circuit featuring multiple levels which will be able to host you and all your friends while you battle it out on the track. While this is a bit further out than other attractions such as the Herbert Art Gallery Museum, the bus/uber ride there is definitely worth it especially if you enjoy fast-paced, exhilarating action.
- The Wave Waterpark
Second, on this list is another action-packed activity. The Wave is located in Coventry city centre, and is one of the UK’s largest and newest indoor waterparks. You’ll find six epic slides that are precision-engineered to fill the thrill seekers with excitement, boasting everything from the disappearing floor of The Torrent, plunging into the pool at the end of The Cascade to the high-speed rollercoaster ride on The Rapids’. So if you’re looking for a good splash, The Wave is where it’s at.
- Bowling Ten Pin
If you're looking for things to do in Coventry, then Tenpin is the place for you! With 34 bowling lanes, pool tables, table tennis, and a range of arcade games, there's more than enough to keep you entertained. The fun doesn't stop there, they also have laser tag and a new escape room, as well as a variety of arcade games so if bowling isn’t really your thing, you will never be short of options at Ten Pin.
- Planet Ice Coventry
Looking for something a little bit different? Why not try Planet Ice? Planet Ice is a 4000-capacity multi-purpose Ice Rink and Event Arena which is home to the Coventry Blaze and numerous international events. Slip, slide and laugh your way to a good time on the ice with you and your friends. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a beginner or a veteran skater because planet ice caters to all and even offers classes for those that want more than just a 2-hour session. Look out for the ResLife calendar as well as we have in the past offered free skating tickets to FutureLets residents so keep an eye out if you don’t want to miss out on a fun time.
- Showcase Cinema de Lux Coventry
Instead of all the rush and action of Bowling and Swimming or Ice skating, maybe you’d like to just kick back, relax, and watch a movie while you munch on some fresh popcorn instead. If so, Showcase cinema is what you’d be looking for. Featuring, a giant, immersive wall-to-wall screen, all-around 360 Dolby Atmos sound, and ultra-high definition projection. Showcase quite possibly offers the ultimate cinema experience especially when you take into account the fully customisable recliner seating.
With that, we come to the end of our picks for some of the places in Coventry that you could go to really enjoy your time here. We hope this list has been helpful for you and that it provides you with a whole gallery of memories and fun times as the year goes by.
