Love it or hate it, you need food. But food costs money and sometimes you will have very little of that. Or maybe you actually have money but don’t feel like spending hundreds of pounds a month on uber eats and McDonald’s anymore. Whatever your situation, having an easy way to spend less money is something you probably wouldn’t mind. So why not try some of these wallet-friendly meals, courtesy of ResLife.

  • Egg Fried noodles

This tasty, filling meal can be enjoyed for less than £2.50 and can be prepared in under 10 minutes. All you need is two eggs and two packs of noodles and you’re good to go. Noodles can be acquired for 60p and eggs for £1.10 at Sainsbury’s so this makes this an ideal meal for going easy on your bank account. This meal is also a great option for vegetarians.

  • Beans and rice

This meal is great for a cold day and it’s super easy to make. All you need are frozen mixed vegetables, baked beans, and rice. Dice one full onion and fry it on high heat together with your frozen vegetables. Once it’s almost cooked through, pour in the baked beans and stir until ready. In a separate pot is where you’ll make the rice which will take 10 – 20 minutes and after that, simply grab a bowl and enjoy a hearty meal for less than £4

  • Stir Fry chicken noodles

Noodles feature again on this list but this time with a more filling companion. The ingredients are Chicken breast fillet (diced breast will cost more so you’ll have to cut the breast up yourself), a stir fry vegetable pack, and one pack of noodles and now you have a flavorful meal for under £5.00

  • Ham and Egg Sandwiches with baby potatoes

Nothing saves you more money while still tasting great better than a good old-fashioned sandwich. There are plenty of different low-cost ingredients you could substitute for the ham and egg but for this particular recipe, this is what we suggest. Have yourself a nice sandwich with a side of grilled potatoes. The whole meal can be prepared in less than 30 minutes. You can halve the cooking time by dicing the potatoes and frying them instead of grilling. All this for only £4.80

  • Rice Pudding

If you’re in the mood for something sweet, then this recipe is perfect for you. Just prepare fresh rice but cook it until its starts to become a bit mushy. Then add just add enough milk to make a porridge-like mixture, some sugar, and a pinch of salt to taste, and voila! A hot and sweet dish is ready for you to eat and it’ll only cost you £4.80. If you don’t want to use sugar, syrup, honey or diced fruits can all be used to add that sweetness to your dish.

And with that, our list comes to a close. We here at ResLife hope that these suggestions have helped you and that you can now go off and enjoy a whole menu of tasty, easy-to-prepare affordable food.
