September may feel far away… but time moves fast and it is just around the corner. It is important to book your accommodation quickly so you get your first choice before it fills up fast. In this blog, we will be discussing all the reasons you should stay in Halls. Also, be sure to check out this TikTok I made which also discusses why you should stay in Halls.
It is a great way to make friends
In my opinion, halls is always the best way to make friends. It offers a very social environment. Often, the people in your flat have all just moved in too and are all willing to mix and make friends. Often you can suggest great bonding activities to your flatmates such ass movie nights and nights out when you are all trying to find your feet.
However, even if this doesn’t happen, our social spaces offer a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. With pool, table tennis, tv rooms and lots more there is so many great opportunities.
There is something for everyone
Our great selection of hall means there is always something for everyone. Our current halls for undergraduates are Bishop Gate, The Cycle Works and Godiva Place. Bishop Gate and Godiva Place are the bigger halls.
Bishop Gate has a gym and lots more to offer, such as study spaces, a TV room to hire, private dining to hire and lots more. The flats are 9 or 10 people.
Godiva Place also has great facilities such as study spaces, tv rooms, rooms to hire and social space. The flats are can range from 7-12 people.
The Cycle Works is a smaller more intimate accommodation. It also houses great facilities such as a TV room and social space. The flats range from 4-12 people.
All accommodations have table tennis and table football. They are also all in great locations close to the city centre and the university.
Be sure to check out the website for more information.
We have some great events
Our events are another great benefit of living in accommodation. They are a great way to try new things. For example, we do lots of great baking events, cooking events making new things, we have also done outdoor sports events, an opportunity to try new games, walking tours around Coventry and lots more.
We run the events all year round and they are a great way to make friends across the accommodations that you way not have met otherwise. Especially during freshers it is a great way to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try new things, tart up new conversations and meet new people.
Our Reslife assistants are always there for a regular smiley friendly face throughout the year.
Great Rooms & Kitchens
The rooms across the accommodations are great and spacious. They also have en-suites, which in my opinion is definitely the way to go. This means you have your own space with also opportunities to socialise in the shared kitchens. The rooms also have lots of storage, which is important when living in accommodation away from home.
The kitchens also offer a large space. There is often multiple kitchens and cookers depending on the flat size. This means you have lots of space to store all your pots, pans and food and also lots of fridge space.
There is also the choice of studios available. These are a great way if you want your own space and kitchen space.
