Kitty’s Top 5 Takeaways for Students

MY top tier food in Coventry

Hiii my fellow big backs,

If you’re a student in Coventry, you’ll know that university life gets real busy. All those lectures, late-night library sessions, and squeezing in a social life - there’s just no time to cook (this is my excuse every time). That’s where my Coventry’s top takeaways come to the rescue! In this list, I’ll be talking about my personal top 5 takeaway spots for students. I 100% recommend giving these a try if you haven't already!

But first, a top tip! 🚨

Right now, Deliveroo has some student offers going (always worth checking the app!), and if you sign up to Deliveroo Plus with student discount, you can get free delivery on loads of orders. But ordering food on Deliveroo on weekends gives you a 50% off on deliveries!!!

1. Pepe’s Piri Piri

If you haven’t tried Pepe’s yet, you’re seriously missing out. I’m not even joking this is my absolute favourite takeout, I get this like every other day with my friends and I NEVER get tired of it no matter how many times I’ve eaten it.

Pepe’s is the go-to when you’re craving juicy, spicy grilled chicken. You can choose how spicy you want it - from mild to hot. Their Chicken Rice Box (TAKE MY CARD, TAKE MY SOUL - IT’S THE BEST THING EVER💳💥💥💥) is perfect when you want something filling but not too greasy.

They have a 10% off offer on their app if you order online:))

2. Burgers & Sauce

This is one of my go-to places when I’m craving burgers. If you love a good burger, Burgers & Sauce is the place. Their burgers are proper juicy, packed with flavour, and their special sauces are elite.

I usually go for the Original Beef/Chicken Burger meal - you can’t go wrong. They have loaded fries too which are just *chefs kiss*.

They often have combo deals that are super student-friendly, and it's a lot better (and tastier) value than a lot of fast food chains! Even without the combo deals, they offer 15% off for students so don’t forget your student ID.

3. Oodles

Noodles? Rice? Salt and pepper chicken? Yes please. Oodles is THE place to go when you want a big, customisable box of goodness for a good price. You can pick your base (noodles, rice or fries OR you can have a mix of 2 bases) and add your favourite mains - my go-to is the crispy chicken and teriyaki chicken.

They sometimes offer student discounts or deals on meal boxes, and honestly, the portion sizes are so generous you can easily save some for lunch the next day.

4. Royal Cha

Got a sweet tooth (or just love bubble tea) but also want a meal? Royal Cha is PERFECT 😭 for a little treat after a proper meal you know? They offer Bento boxes which is filled to the brim for a very gooood price. I also like to order a Royal salmon, which is a sushi roll deep fried (yum yum yum). Their Brown Sugar Boba is my absolute fave, but they’ve also got loads of other milk teas, and fruit teas.

 5. Wing Trapp

If you’re into wings, Wing Trapp is a good recommendation. You can mix and match flavours - I can’t lie, I basically tried all flavours and think they’re all good. They have burgers as well, but I’ve already got a burger place, so I usually just go there for the wings.

Not to mention, they have a Buy 1 Get 1 wings box on every Tuesdays, so you bet I’m there like almost every Tuesday 😭 but that’s slightly pathetic, so let me just say it doesn’t happen always...

Anyways...

There you have it! my personal top 5 takeouts in Coventry for when you’re too tired to cook or just fancy treating yourself.

Don’t forget: check apps like Deliveroo and Uber Eats for weekend discounts and deals, and sign up for student perks wherever you can, a little saving here and there really adds up!
