Feel the sandy between your toes!

Summertime is all about enjoying and participating in summer activities with friends and family. Since Coventry is a landlocked city you may think there aren’t beaches nearby. While city life looks amazing under the sun, the one thing that is missing is the sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks and the sound of seagulls being mischievous. If you ever need a trip to the beach and you’re not sure where to go, we`ve got you covered.

So where is Coventry’s nearest beach?

By our reckoning and based on mileage, Hunstanton is the nearest beach to landlocked Coventry, followed by Weston-Super-Mare and Skegness.

Here is a list of Beaches you can visit on your day trip:

1. Weston-Super-Mare

This is a buzzing seaside town - think donkey rides, arcades, ice-creams and fish and chips. You’ll see people here on buggies flying kites but be careful where you go for a paddle! It can get pretty muddy near the pier!

Distance from Coventry: 119 miles

Journey time: 2 hours

2. Formby

Enjoy the golden sand and sand dunes at Formby beach. You may even spot some red squirrels in the lush woodland that surrounds the peaceful coast line. Formby beach is the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy some nature.

3. Skegness

Everyone loves a bit of Skegvegas! There’s a large promenade from Skegness to Ingoldmells where there’s a fair ground and market and then you can have a leisurely walk onto the quieter area of Chapel St.Leonards. Skegness is full of funny music tribute acts, arcades, sea life centre and there’s plenty of places to buy things to play on the beach.

Distance from Coventry: 121 miles

Journey time: 2 hours 30min

Hunstanton is a quiet village with lots of traditional British pubs and stunning cottages. Visit this beautiful sandy beach and you'll witness one of the most amazing sunsets, plus this beach is backed onto the famous striped cliff.
