If you’re a student in Coventry, you know that university life can be pretty busy. Between studying, lectures, and socialising, there’s not always time to cook. That's where the city's best takeaways come in to save the day! Whether you're craving something after a long day of exams, or you're just after a late-night snack, Coventry has something for everyone.
In this blog, we will be discussing Coventry’s Top 5 Takeaways for Students (in my own personal opinion).
But first, a top tip! Deliveroo is currently doing 50% off on food delivery every weekend until the end of April (with this weekend being the last one!), be sure to check it out to save some money! This is a great way to save pennies. Deliveroo also does student deals on Deliveroo Plus which is a great way to get some cheap delivery and help make your meals cheaper.
1. Burger Boi
If you haven’t tried Burger Boi, you’re missing out on one of Coventry’s hidden gems. Whether you're in the mood for a classic beef burger, a chicken fillet (my personal favourite), or even a vegetarian option, Burger Boi has got it all. They’re known for their custom-made burgers, fresh ingredients, and those irresistible, perfectly crispy fries on the side. The bad boy XL fries are my personal favourite.
2. Dominos
Dominos do some great deals. Personally, I never buy from the regular menu as they always have great deals on. This is also a great option if you want to share with flatmates. They often do deals such as getting a large, pizza, 2 sides, drinks and cookies. I always like to get the cookies for dessert as they make it extra delicious.
Another great option is to get half and half on the pizza as this can allow you to split it with your housemates to get a great deal. The chicken wings and loaded doughballs are also really good.
3. Lucky House Chinese
This is mine and my flatmates favourite Chinese. We love to get a Chinese on Wednesday nights as it feels like the perfect midweek treat to get you through a hard week of coursework and deadlines.
They do some great boxes with deals on them, for example, you can get chicken balls, chips, fried rice and curry sauce in a box. There is also special deals on boxes which include prawn toast and spring rolls which are also really yummy!
Who doesn’t love a good Chinese after all? In my opinion, you just can’t go wrong!
4. Doorstep Desserts
If you’ve got a sweet tooth that’s craving something indulgent, Doorstep Desserts is your new best friend. This local gem is all about delivering freshly baked, mouth-watering desserts straight to your door, and yes, they’ll make your day (or night) 100 times better.
From rich chocolate brownies to cheesecakes, Doorstep Desserts has a dessert for everyone. Their cookie dough cakes, millionaire shortbreads, and the Nutella crepes are the kind of sweet treats you’ll crave.
The best thing about doorstep desserts is the great deals they do. They often do 2 for 1 on their cookie doughs and milkshakes meaning if you share with a friend it’ll only be £3-£4 each which is a great bargain.
5. Phat Buns
Phat buns is another great choice on the burges so close but great for delivery and they are teamed up with Doorstop Desserts, making it a great choice for a full meal. Their menu is filled with juicy, stacked-up burgers and my personal favourite the boneless wings, they also do great tater tots to go with your meals.
They also do good loaded fries. And of course, great chicken wings!
