The UK is a popular study destination for Chinese students. In this sense, it's important to look at ways to make them settle well at university, in a country so distant and different from their own. Homesickness is a real feeling that students go through after moving to a new place.  

There are multiple strategies that can be adopted to help deal with homesickness and one of them is looking at different places that remind you of your culture and that make you feel comfortable. Today we will look at places for Chinese students to explore in Coventry. 

Coventry has a wide range of Chinese restaurants and those are the most loved by students in general. 

  • Chinese Kitchen. This is a very popular restaurant amongst students as it's quite affordable. They mostly operate through a takeaway service and they aim to deliver fast, fresh food and full of authentic ingredients.   • BiB Noodle Bar. They have variety of fresh and delicious handmade Chinese recipes.   • Noodle Bar. Noodle Bar specialises in ethnic Cantonese and Oriental cuisine. You can order online if you'd like! You can find all of your favourite dishes there such as a Dim Sum, Chow Mien or Sweet & Sour dish.   • China Red. They offer a great selection of Chinese food and a large variety of vegetarian options. They also have a speciality menu such as "Home Made" Dim Sum menu , which includes Cantonese favourites such as King Prawn Dumpling, Shomai Dumpling and Pork Bun. You can book Karaoke rooms there and you can decide to have a buffet with a mix of starters and mains. You can also find a variety of Chinese supermarkets with all sorts of food. This can be a great way for you to connect with your culture and find some of your favourite snacks. 

  • China Mini Market. China Mini Market is a family run business that was established in 2004. They have high quality, oriental fruit, vegetables and specialised South East Asian groceries at a reasonable price, along with other products such as noodles, sauces, spices and more!They are usually open from 10am until 6pm.Location: 22 Market Way, CV1 1DL
  • Wah Yan Hong. Wah Yan Hong Chinese Supermarket Coventry is located in the heart of Coventry City Centre. They are one of the  biggest Oriental Supermarket in Coventry with over 2000 different types of products in store!! They have a wide range of noodles and frozen food products.They usually open at 11am and close at 19pm everyday.Location:  71 Hertford St, Coventry CV1 1LB

These are only some Chinese suggestions but Coventry has many other options for you to explore! If you feel homesick at some point. food can be a way of bringing people together and sharing culture. You can always plan a night with your friends and eat at a restaurant or you can also plan a nigh in with your friends and cook a variety of meals , just like a potluck.
