Hellooo lovely readers or future pop stars? I know classes started on Monday for some of us, but are you ready to sing your heart out? Karaoke Night with ResLife is right around the corner - literally this Saturday, 25th January!! And I, your one and only, have the perfect guide to help you rock the stage at this weekend’s event. Whether you’re a skilled karaoke performer or a first-timer with stage fright, choosing the right song makes all the difference.
To help you shine or laugh your way through the night, I’ve put together a list of classic karaoke songs to inspire your performance. Obviously though, no pressure - you’re there to have fun, so no matter how great or out of tune you are, it doesn’t matter. You’re gonna rock anyways!
Here’s a list of my go-to songs:
These are the ultimate crowd-pleasers that everyone knows and loves (anyone who says otherwise is either a hater or a liar).
1. "24K Magic" - Bruno Mars
2. "Don’t Stop Believin’" - Journey
This is actually giving major Glee flashbacks (iykyk).
3. "Dancing Queen" - ABBA
4. "Shallow" - Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper
5. "Kiss you" or "What Makes You Beautiful" - One Direction
Guys. PLEASE THIS IS A MUST.
6. "Hello" - Adele
7. "Barbie Girl" - Aqua
8. "Wannabe" - Spice Girls
9. "Umbrella" - Rihanna
10. "Poker Face" - Lady Gaga
11. "Last Friday Night" or "California Gurls" - Katy Perry
12. "Toxic" - Britney Spears
13. "Someone Like You" - Adele
14. "All of Me" - John Legend
Really feeling the feels with 13 and 14.
15. "Party in the U.S.A." - Miley Cyrus
YES. YES. YES.
16. "Rewrite The Stars" - James Arthur & Anne-Marie
Go and do that duet with someone!!
17. "Uptown Funk" - Bruno Mars
18. "Set Fire to the Rain" - Adele
19. "Single ladies" - Beyonce
20. "Call Me Maybe" - Carly Rae Jepsen
There’s really no order when it comes to karaoke. One minute, you could sing the most exciting song, and the next, you’re on the performance of your lifetime singing about your ex. So don’t worry about what the other person sang in front of you. Remember, choose a song you love - passion makes the performance memorable. If you’re nervous, choose a song everyone knows; they will sing it with you:) or consider grabbing a friend for a fun collaboration.
