3 easy meals for exam season

Posted 3 days ago

So you can still easy well when you're busy

When you get home from a long day of work or studying, you don't want to be standing over the hob for hours making a fancy meal. Instead, you should choose to cook something easy and quick that is still nutritious, and can be frozen or meal prepped (which will save you a lot of money in the long run).

Here are some of my favourites...

Chorizo Pasta

a bowl of food on a plate

This is my go to quick easy meal that I cook often which is also extra yummy.

What you will need:

1x Penne Pasta Bag- Approx £1

1x Chorizo Ring- Approx- £2.50

1x Jar of Tomato Pasta Sauce- £1-£2

This is a quick and easy meal for around £5 and can easily be frozen and then ate for another 2/3 days.

What to do:

Boil the kettle and then add the pasta to a pan with kettle water. Allow the pasta to cook as per packet instructions. Meanwhile cut the chorizo into small slices, add in with the pasta once the pastas cooked and add the jar of sauce in. Cook for 5 minutes and you’re good to go. A quick and easy delicious meal.

Fajitas

a plate of food on a table

This is another quick and easy delicious meal for cheap.

What you will need:

1x Fajita Kit- £2-£3- comes with wraps, salsa and seasoning

1x Pepper- 80p approx

1x Pack of chicken- £3-£5

This is also a great fun meal to get creative with and make with friends.

What to do:

Cut up your chicken and season with the fajita seasoning. Cook until the chicken is fully cooked. While the chicken is cooking cut up your pasta and add the peppers once the chicken is cooked. Cook for a further 5 minutes. Heat up your flatbread and add the mix into them. Add the salsa and even add some cheese if you wish and you are good to go! Another quick easy delicious meal.

Chicken Noodles

a bowl of food on a wooden table

Noodles are also a great go to and a way to have something different that is also quick and easy and another great meal prep idea.

What you will need:

2x Packs of Noodles- Approx £2

1x Pack of Chicken- £3-£4

1x Stir fry Veg- Approx £1

1x- Stir fry sauce packet of your choice- Approx 80p

What to do:

First, Season and cook your chicken with whatever seasoning you may already have and fry the chicken until almost fully cooked, add in your stir fry mix and cook until softened. Then add in your noodles, I prefer udon noodles but you can pick yours of choice, once the noodles have softened add in your sauce. There is lots of packet sauces to choose from such as chilli and garlic and teriyaki. Cook for a couple more minutes and its ready to eat and dish up and freeze if desired.

We hope you enjoy these delicious meals. They’re all quick and easy and value for money especially when having enough for 2-3 days!
