My experience living in Uni Halls and why I recommend it!

Choosing where to live as a student is a crucial decision, and for me, Futurelets accommodation, particularly Bishop Gate, has been more than just a place to stay—it has been a home. Since the start of my course at Coventry University, I have chosen to live in university halls every year, and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. From a welcoming atmosphere to excellent facilities and a strong sense of community, Futurelets provides everything a student needs for a fulfilling university life. Here are the top reasons why students should consider living in Futurelets accommodation.

1. A Welcoming and Supportive Environment

One of the main reasons I kept returning to Bishop Gate was the warm and inviting atmosphere. As a first-year student, moving away from home felt stressful and daunting, but the friendly environment made the transition much easier. Futurelets fosters a sense of belonging, helping students feel at home from the moment they arrive.

Additionally, the staff are incredibly helpful and approachable. After over three years of living in Bishop Gate, I consider them like family. Their support and dedication to student well-being make a huge difference, ensuring that residents always have someone to turn to.

Living in Futurelets accommodation provides students with numerous opportunities to socialize and build connections. One of the standout features is ResLife, a program designed to enhance the student living experience through a range of events. These include sports activities, entertainment nights, relaxation sessions, and even educational workshops e.g Game nights, Cooking classes, arts & crafts, and many more!

As a student, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed, homesick, or lonely, especially in the first year. Through ResLife, I was able to meet new people, make lasting friendships, and bond with fellow students who were experiencing the same challenges—academic stress, nostalgia, and the need to adapt to university life. The events played a crucial role in shaping my university experience, making it more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Beyond just providing a place to stay, Futurelets helped me grow as a person. Engaging in social events and meeting people from different backgrounds improved my public speaking skills and confidence. I expanded my social circle beyond just my accommodation and made friends across all three university halls.

 3. Comfortable and Affordable Living Spaces

Currently, in my third year, I live in a studio, which some might assume to be isolating. However, that has not been my experience. Futurelets studios are spacious, well-designed, and reasonably priced at £184 per week. I have never felt restricted or uncomfortable in my living space. For someone like me, who values privacy while still enjoying social interactions, the studio option has been ideal for me! Even though I live alone, I have formed close connections with my neighbors. We often gather for dinners and hang out in communal areas, creating a strong sense of community. The balance between privacy and social interaction has made my experience even more enjoyable. 

 However if you feel like saving more money and sharing an even more intimate experience with flatmates, I recommend getting an en-suite. It's only £145pw and you get a discount if you decide to return back! living in an en-suite will definitely help you improve those confidence skills by interacting with your flatmates and learning about one another,whether if it's about each other countries, foods and culture, it will help you make friends from all backgrounds and boom! You have made friends already!

4. Feeling Safe and Secure

One of the biggest advantages of Futurelets accommodation is the high level of security. The halls are protected by 24/7 security guards, ensuring that students feel safe at all times. Additionally, entry into the buildings is controlled through key gates that require a student ID—a much more convenient and secure system compared to traditional keys, which can easily be lost.

This strong security presence provides peace of mind, allowing students to focus on their studies and personal well-being without worrying about safety concerns.

5. Communal area and other cool amenities 

Another major benefit of living in Bishop Gate is the free on-site gym. As a student, having access to a gym without additional costs is a huge advantage. Regular exercise helps me clear my mind, stay healthy, and manage stress, all while saving money on expensive gym memberships. You want to relax and do something fun? Well, the accommodations also have amenities like pool tables, table tennis, a cinema room, board games, and even a private dining area where you can invite family and friends for dinners, providing you with everything from kitchen utilities to a nice cozy lounge area with TV and even a PS5! 

Living in Futurelets has been more than just an accommodation choice—it has been an essential part of my university experience. It has provided me with a safe and welcoming environment, lifelong friendships, personal growth, and incredible amenities.
