Easy ways to make extra cash

1. The first tip is to download Vinted!

I love selling all my old things on the platform! What i usually do is that i head home when I go home for a few days and I go into the loft and explore and see what I can find. I have lots of old toys, records and all sorts of good bits that I never would have thought would sell. I also like to go through my wardrobe and do a full clear out. I like to make two piles and use the rule if I haven’t worn it within the past year or 6 months then I don’t need it and I can add to the other pile.

I then head over to Vinted and check how much things have sold for. This allows me a good price guideline to how much I should list my things for and give them a good price to give them the best chance of selling. 

Once I have done that I try and get pictures with good lighting of the items, add a price, add the item specifications with a good description and they’re good to go.

I then wait for people to make offers or sometimes make offers to them if they have favourited my items.

Once they have purchased I head off to the local shop which has the postage options I have selected, they print off the label and it’s good to go. Once they have received the item I get the money!

It is such a good way to make extra cash

2. Sell things on eBay!

Ebay is another great platform where you can also sell electronics too! This allows you to sell old phones, games or anything you no longer use. But like Vinted they have now removed their seller fees making it just as easy to sell.

EBay also has an auction option where you can list your items up for a lower price and then wait for people to bid for the item to get the best price. This can often be fun seeing the price go up and waiting to see what sells! 

I have also made a lot of money selling vintage toys on here that I didn’t even realise were vintage and they have ended up selling for a lot of money which I was very happy about!

3. Get a part time job!

Being a Reslife assistant has been a great way for me to make extra cash whilst also studying and earning money. 

It allows me to fit my work around my studies whilst also making extra cash for me to save for the summer and do nice things with whilst I am at uni.

4. Becoming a TikTok Creator

I know this may sound like a big move… but it is a great way to make extra money whilst your at uni and can also be a great hobby too.

You can start this off from scratch. My tip would be to try and find your niche. Maybe create fun student content, maybe make it about saving money tips, maybe your day to day life, a dissertation diaries. There are so many options out there.

Make sure you are consistent and patient. Regular content does best and it may take a while to build up but it is worth it. Wait for brands to reach out to you and they will often send you free products which is always lovely to receive. You can also earn money through the TikTok creator fund once you have enough followers and engagement.

5. Tutoring

This is another great way to make extra cash. There are lots of tutoring platforms out there. Maybe you did good in your a levels, or know a language well or have a flare for maths.

There are so many platforms which allow you to upload a profile of yourself and then tutor in person or even online. This can be a flexible, once a week thing an a great way to earn extra cash.
