So now that you have moved and settled in your University Accommodation, there are a few things you should know when doing laundry.
The laundry at Coventry University is managed by Wash Station, and cost £2.50 for a washing cycle and £1.20 for a dryer cycle.
To pay for your washing you will need to top up a laundry card, which you will get once you arrive. You are then able to top up your card online or on the machines in the laundry rooms.
You are able to see how busy each of the machines are at your accommodation:
Using the machines
- Load your machine between 1/4 - 3/4 full. (We recommend halfway for optimal results)
- For the washing machines, add your etergent directly to the drum and close the door
- For the dryers, make sure you clean the lint filter before and after use
- To start the programme you will need to tap your laundry card on the reader, select the cycle you want, then tap the laundry cap again
Top tips
Separate your darks and lights - you don't want your favourite white top turning grey or a weird shade of pink
Always check the label - if something is handwash only, then it might get ruined in the machine or drier!
Empty your pockets - we're lucky that now note money is water resistant but no one wants the dreaded fluff that covers your clothes if you've accidentally left a tissue if your pocket!
Keep clothes smelling good by using a fragrant detergent and for longer-lasting freshness why not add in a tumble drier sheet?
Don't panic, there are also instructions in the laundrette if you need a bit of extra help!
