As the academic year comes to an end, you've probably got packing away on the mind. Whether you're heading home for the Summer or graduating, there's bound to be a pile of belongings you no longer want or can't take with you.
Although it might be tempting to throw those kitchen appliances and spare clothes, your unwanted items could really make a difference to someone else. Don't let your leftover items go to waste, instead donate!
Pack for Good with the British Heart Foundation ❤️
Every year, the British Heart Foundation raises millions of pounds by reselling donated goods to help fund life-saving research into heart and circulatory diseases. Help them with their mission by taking part in their Pack for Good campaign by donating your unwanted items.
What can I donate?
- Furniture – in clean, safe, resalable condition (free from rips, tears, or obvious damage)
- Large white goods – things like fridges, freezers and washing machines
- Small electricals – hairdryers, toasters, kettles, lamps etc.
- Kitchen items – crockery, cutlery, pots and pans
- Sports equipment – anything from tennis rackets to yoga mats
- Clothes – all in wearable condition
As the service is free, the BHF can only collect items that are in resalable condition. Make sure that your items are not broken, heavily worn, or not compliant with safety regulations as they unfortunately won't be accepted, and cost the charity money to dispose of.
What can't I donate?
- Duvets
- Pillows
- Broken or dirty items
- Food
- Knives
Where can I donate?
We've made it even easier to donate by adding British Heart Foundation stations across our halls. You can find a donation station for clothing and small working electricals at:
- The Hub
- Cycle Works
- Bishop Gate
- Godiva Place
- CU Coventry reception
- Scarborough Campus
Or, if you want to use the BHF collection serve instead, you can book a free collection here.
So this Summer, before you toss away that toaster or ditch that desk chair, think again. Let your leftovers live on and Pack for Good with the British Heart Foundation.
