All about misconduct and disciplinary action

This is one of those actions we never want to see happen, but there are times when it has to be applied. 

As a student, you're an important part of our university community. But a university relationship goes both ways. Whilst we educate and support you, we also expect you to:

✅ respect the rights and property of other students and of the wider community

✅ behave politely

✅ tolerate another person's views

✅ act like a responsible citizen

✅ respect where you live

Act of misconduct

If the above isn't followed, any inappropriate behaviour may lead to disciplinary action.

You must:

• not behave in ways that will cause actual or potential damage or harm to the university and others
• not interfere with the functioning, activities or operation of the university, or with the work, studies or activities of those who are connected with the university
• behave appropriately when you are away from the university, but in a university context, for example, on a placement, field trip, or in situations where there is some link to the university's reputation

If you breach our Code of Conduct or any of our rules and regulations about behaviour, we are then likely to take disciplinary action.

What happens if you breach the code of conduct?

If you are found to have committed an act of misconduct:

❗️You may face sanctions, including a permanent exclusion from the university

❗️Details of any disciplinary action will be recorded on your student record and beyond your period of enrolmentWe do this to keep the protection of the university, others and yourself, so it's important to behave kindly and respectfully ❤️
