Discover the best study gems

With famous hotspots such as the library and cafes, each having its atmosphere to keep one concentrated during study sessions, there are spots on campus which offer a great alternative to boring studies. This blog will look at some of the best study spots at Coventry University, focusing on those which are less famous and thus providing an academic hike.

Lanchester Library

One of the best-kept secrets on campus is Quiet Study at the Lanchester Library. In addition to students using the main areas of the library for a quiet place to study, the upper floors often have more isolated areas perfect for concentration. These also are a good spot to sit down and relax; there is comfortable seating and plenty of natural light inside. There are also group study rooms available in the library that can be booked for project work.

The Hub

Another very good place is the Hub. Though this spot is very social, it has its quiet nooks; the more secluded parts of the Hub allow you to sit and study. The big windows let in plenty of sunlight, and the seating is flexible, so it will not be difficult to find a comfortable seat to study. Moreover, proximity to food outlets means that you can grab a snack without losing your momentum.

Uni Gardens

If someone wants some greenery, then University gardens are not bad at all. The tranquil environment of the garden could be wonderfully rejuvenating during extended hours of studying. You can either sit on benches or bring a blanket and sit on the grass. The surroundings will help you unclutter your mind and inspire your creativity; it's a very good place to do brainstorming or read.

Engineering & Computer Building

Some of the more obscure study areas are located within the Engineering and Computing Building. The open areas with a modern design create an intellectually stimulating study environment. Several breakout areas are dispersed throughout the building, offering comfortable seating for individual or group work. A tech-savvy environment will be particularly stimulating to those studying related fields.

Art Gallery

If you want to venture into something slightly more creative, then the Coventry University Art Gallery is another option. Okay, it might not sound like a conventional study space, but the atmosphere can be conducive to working and inspires creativity; it's a different kind of background to the usual study spaces. You can soak in the art while you're working on your assignments.

Student Centre

Not to be forgotten is the Student Centre. Oftentimes, this space offers a more quiet alternative to those other busier areas of campus. It has comfortable seating and charging points and is thus really the ideal place for students who have to power through their work. The relaxed atmosphere encourages productivity, so it seems, making it a favourite for those in the know.

Wellbeing Centre

If you want a quieter environment, then this is the place you go. This will be a hub that is meant for relaxation and the calming of one's mind but also houses quiet spots where you can hit the books. In general, the ambience can lower your stress level to a minimum, which can make it easier for you to concentrate on your work. Additionally, the Centre often arranges workshops and events which may enrich your learning process.

Cathedral Grounds

Lastly, there is Coventry Cathedral grounds. Only a few minutes walk from campus, the cathedral offers a very serene environment with beautiful architecture and peaceful gardens. It's a great place to go for some outdoor studying, especially if the weather permits. You may sit on a quiet bench or spread out your stuff on the grassy spots provided.

Whether you get your energy from being in the heart of a buzzing social setting or in the stillness of nature, you can find it on (or very near) campus. The next time you're hunting for that perfect location to crack those books open, glance at these hidden diamonds!
